Jaipur: Come April 1, people travelling between Jaipur and Kishangarh will have to pay higher toll as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a hike in rates. The increase ranges from Rs 5 to Rs 70, and the revised toll charges will take effect from midnight of March 31.

Car drivers travelling from Jaipur to Kishangarh will now pay Rs 155, up from the current Rs 140. At present, vehicles are charged Rs 85 at Thikaria toll plaza near Bagru and Rs 55 at Badgaon toll booth near Kishangarh. These revised rates will increase to Rs 95 and Rs 60, respectively. Light commercial vehicles and minibuses will also see a rise in toll fees, from Rs 225 to Rs 240, starting April 1, an official said.

According to NHAI figures, Jaipur-Kishangarh highway is one of the busiest in India, with more than 33,000 vehicles passing through Thikaria toll plaza daily. Toll collection on this stretch exceeds approximately Rs 60 lakh per day.

A senior official stated that due to the high traffic volume, NHAI constructed flyovers at all major junctions, including crossroads, intersections, and traffic cut points along the highway. Over the past four years, NHAI built nine flyovers at locations including Heerapura, Narsinghpura, Dahmikalan, Mahlan, Gadota, Mokhampura, Savarda, Padasoli, and Bandar Sindri. With the completion of the Bhankrota flyover, all ten black spots on this route will now be eliminated, the official added.

In addition to the Jaipur-Kishangarh route, toll rates on Jaipur's Southern Ring Road (from Ajmer Bypass to Agra Bypass) will also be revised from April 1. Currently, cars pay Rs 120 for the full 47-kilometre stretch, while light commercial vehicles and minibuses are charged Rs 195. The exact increase has not yet been finalised but is expected to be announced by Sunday, said the official.
