JAIPUR: Toll rates for all classes of vehicles on national and state highways in Rajasthan will increase by Rs 5 to 25 from April 1, increasing the burden on commuters.
Along with the toll on Jaipur-Kishangarh Highway, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased rates at the Manoharpur, Shahpura and Daulatpura toll booths on the Jaipur-Delhi Highway; two toll booths on the Ring Road; one on the Ajmer-Delhi Bypass; the Manoharpur and Shahjahanpur booths on the Jaipur-Delhi Old Highway; and on routes to Reengus and Phagi-Malpura.
"Under the new revisions, at Shahjahanpur toll, cars will be charged Rs 200 instead of Rs 190, light commercial vehicles Rs 320 instead of Rs 310, and buses/trucks Rs 670 instead of Rs 645. At the Manoharpur toll on the same bypass, cars will continue to pay Rs 90, but light commercial vehicles will have to pay Rs 145 instead of Rs 140, and buses/trucks Rs 310 instead of Rs 300," an NHAI official said.
The Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation (RSRDC) also increased the toll rates on Jaipur-Bhilwara state highway. For travelling from Jaipur to Phagi, cars will be charged Rs 110, light commercial vehicles Rs 165 instead of Rs 160, and buses/trucks Rs 335 instead of Rs 330. The toll rates on the 47km Ring Road, connecting Agra Bypass to Ajmer Bypass, have also been increased. At the Sitarampura toll plaza, cars will be charged Rs 65 instead of Rs 60, and buses/trucks Rs 215 instead of Rs 205.
Toll rates on the Jaipur-Kota Highway, for vehicles travelling to and from Tonk, and those using the Jaipur-Sikar Bypass to Reengus have gone up. At the Shivdaspura toll booth, car owners will have to pay Rs 125 instead of Rs 120, light commercial vehicles Rs 200 instead of Rs 190, and buses/trucks Rs 410 instead of Rs 395.
"On the Jaipur-Sikar Highway at the Tatiawas toll booth, cars and jeeps will be charged Rs 80 instead of Rs 75, and buses/trucks Rs 265 instead of Rs 255. From April 1, all these revised rates will be applicable for vehicles travelling on various routes in the state," an official said.
