Jaipur: Sikar district reported second ATM robbery in a week on early Saturday morning. Around 3am, criminals arrived in a black vehicle, cut open the SBI bank ATM located near Poonia Wines on Jaipur Road in Sikar city using a gas cutter and fled with Rs 30 lakh.
Shakti Singh, a representative of the ATM operating company, reported that approximately Rs 30 lakh were in the ATM, which the thieves stole and fled. The thieves also broke the CCTV cameras installed there. Five accused executed the heist.
On that day, the guard was on leave, so there was no security personnel at the ATM. Even after the ATM robbery, no one was aware until around 9am when people came to withdraw money and discovered the incident.
Upon receiving the information, the Udyog Nagar police arrived at the scene and inspected the site. Trainee IPS Prashant Kiran mentioned that a team has been formed to search for the robbers based on the CCTV footage. Udyog Nagar police have registered a case against unknown robbers and started an investigation.Notably, on July 4, in Ajitgarh town of Sikar district, robbers also uprooted an ATM and took it away, and the police have not achieved any success in that case either.
