JAISALMER: In a gruesome incident in Harsani village under Girab police station limits in Barmer district, a man killed his wife by slitting her throat with a sword early Friday morning.
The accused, Moim Khan (37), attempted to flee to Jodhpur but was intercepted and arrested by police en route.
The deceased, Rahmat (34), was taken to the mortuary, and a post-mortem was conducted at CHC Gadra Road.
Barmer SP Narendra Singh Meena said the case was being investigated on priority. The accused had purchased the sword from the market a day earlier, indicating premeditation. The motive for the murder has not yet been revealed.
Upon receiving the information, sub-inspector Devi Singh and a police team secured the crime scene in Kumharo Ki Dhani, Mogra.
