Lawyer abducted over suspicion for role in missing of minor girl

Jodhpur : A lawyer, who came to meet his client in Jodhpur, was kidnapped by about a dozen people on May 5. They beat him up, dropped him on the way and fled. The victim alleged the involvement of a RJS officer , an RAS officer and PA of Pali MP in connection with a missing minor girl ’s case in Bilara. According to police, abductors had suspected the lawyer’s role in missing of the minor girl.

SHO (Ratanada) Pradeep Danga said that a lawyer, Lalit Panwar (48), resident of Sojat City in Pali, had filed a report on Monday stating that he received a call from someone named Rakesh on Monday at about 8pm. “The caller identified himself as a judicial magistrate number 3 in Jodhpur and said that he had taken his number from a lawyer Chand Kanwar regarding the case. He asked Lalit to come to see him at Ratanada,” the officer said citing the report.

When he reached there at night, he was confronted by a person called Rakesh, present there in a car with allegedly an RAS officer and PA of MP from Pali, inquired from him about the missing girl.

According to the report, in the meantime, another car arrived and they pushed him in this car and drove away. They beat him on the way and snatched his phone to take some screen shots from it. Over an hour later, they dropped him back on the spot, where they had picked him up from and fled.

Danga said that Panwar filed a report against 12 people.
