Ajmer: Following a chemical gas leak on Balad Road in Beawar, authorities have sealed an illegal chemical battery factory operating in a residential area. The district administration has urged residents to report similar illegal setups to ensure swift legal action.
A special committee, formed by district collector Mahendra Khadgawat, inspected various factories across the city Thursday. The team discovered an unregistered battery manufacturing unit, Tiger Batteries, operating in Mission Compound Colony, near Chang Gate police quarters. The factory was producing and selling chemical batteries without land conversion, fire safety measures, or government approval.
Authorities immediately sealed the facility, confiscating all equipment and stock. "A crackdown has begun in coordination with Nagar Parishad and multiple departments to identify and shut down illegal chemical units in residential areas. Such violations will not be tolerated," said Khadgawat.
He warned that unauthorised factories pose severe environmental and health risks to residents. "These units use toxic chemicals, endangering hundreds of lives. Anyone found operating in the sealed premises will face legal consequences, including FIR registration," he added.
The administration warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
