Dehradun, April 7— Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring that every pilgrim visiting the state for the Char Dham Yatra receives darshan of all four holy shrines — Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Addressing devotees on Monday evening at the Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Dehradun, CM Dhami emphasized that the safety and convenience of the pilgrims remain the government’s top priority.
Solid Strategy Underway for Upcoming YatraSpeaking at a spiritual event organized by the Uttarakhand Seva Samiti, CM Dhami said that preparations for the 2025 Char Dham Yatra began immediately after the conclusion of last year’s yatra. The government has already formulated a robust and serious strategy, and the Chief Minister is set to conduct a key review meeting — his third — to assess preparedness ahead of the yatra’s commencement.
Dhami acknowledged the challenges encountered during the initial phase of last year’s yatra, including a major natural calamity in the Kedarnath valley, where 29 roads and bridges were damaged. He praised the government’s swift response, which ensured the safety of pilgrims and allowed the yatra to resume in just 35 days. The efforts were lauded by visitors from across India and abroad.
Winter Char Dham Yatra Also InitiatedIn a landmark step, CM Dhami highlighted the introduction of the Winter Char Dham Yatra inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “With this initiative, the Char Dham Yatra will now be active throughout the year, promoting religious tourism, strengthening Uttarakhand’s economy, and preserving the state’s cultural heritage,” said the Chief Minister.
Community Participation and DevotionThe event, a musical Sundarkand Path, saw significant participation from the Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple Committee, Uttarakhand Seva Samiti officials, local saints, and a large number of devotees. The occasion served both as a spiritual gathering and a platform to raise awareness about the spiritual and infrastructural preparations for the upcoming yatra season.
As the Char Dham Yatra remains one of India’s most revered spiritual journeys, the Uttarakhand government is leaving no stone unturned to make 2025 a safe and fulfilling pilgrimage experience for all.
