Poo-nami in China: Sewage explodes sending feces up in air, pedestrians, cars drenched

Send Push
Chinese individuals woke up to an unwarranted " poop cloud " after a sewage pipe exploded in Nanning shooting up human feces 33 feet in the air, leaving the pedestrians, cars and bikers drenched.

"Poop exploded everywhere landing on the road, cars, people, and pets the moment a sewage pipe pressure test in Nanning failed. This scene of horror shows feces falling from the sky after the initial explosion in China," said Dom Lurce posting a video of the incident.

The newly-laid sewage pipes burst around 11am on September 24 in a section of the road that was under construction. It’s believed the rupture occurred while engineers were conducting a pressure test during the installation of the sewage pipes, the Sun reported.

Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries from the explosion, but the force was so strong that it flipped a digger on-site. Officials quickly arrived to oversee a massive clean-up operation in the aftermath of the blast.

"I’m drenched in poo, my car is splattered yellow. It’s ruined," a victim complained.

The video has attracted a series of reactions with some netizens expressing concern for the affected, while others questioning the infrastructural fallacies of the area. Meanwhile, some didn't shy away from taking a 'poo-litical' dig at the situation as they called it "a perfect representation of the Biden administration."

Another user raised public heath concerns: "Incidents involving sewage can pose significant health risks, including exposure to harmful bacteria and pathogens. It’s crucial for local health officials to address such situations promptly. The response from local authorities and emergency services would be critical in managing the aftermath, including cleanup efforts and ensuring public safety," said Raushan Kumar.
