Kamala Harris supporters groove to Diddy track, social media says 'on brand' for Harris campaign

Send Push
A video of Kamala Harris’s supporters dancing to Puff Diddy’s track " Mo Money Mo Problems " at her election night watch party has gone viral, provoking a range of reactions online. Critics, particularly Trump supporters, questioned the song choice given recent allegations against Diddy, with some calling it “on brand” for the Harris campaign. The video emerged shortly after Elon Musk criticised Harris’s celebrity endorsements, citing Diddy’s controversial history.

Kamala Harris and Diddy: A Viral Moment
On the evening of 5 November, Kamala Harris’s supporters were seen vibing to Puff Diddy’s famous track, "Mo Money Mo Problems," during an election watch party at her campaign HQ. The upbeat atmosphere, with Harris’s backers dancing to the iconic song, quickly spread across social media, sparking mixed reactions—particularly from critics.

A Controversial Soundtrack Choice

The choice of Diddy’s track has raised eyebrows due to ongoing controversies surrounding the rapper. Recently facing a wave of backlash with various allegations against him, Diddy, who co-produced the track with The Notorious B.I.G., has become a divisive figure. The video, showing Harris supporters dancing seemingly unconcerned to the Diddy tune, prompted strong responses from conservative viewers.

Some critics, largely Trump supporters, mocked the apparent connection, calling it “on brand” for the Harris campaign. One user wrote, “Lol, they aren’t hiding anything anymore. It’s all over for them,” while another added, “The jokes write themselves.” Others online reacted with humour and scepticism, with comments like, “Someone should’ve told Kamala HQ that playing a Diddy song probably isn’t a good idea.” Many Trump supporters interpreted the song choice as poor judgement, suggesting it reflected negatively on the Harris campaign. However, others brushed off the incident as light-hearted fun during a high-stakes event.

Elon Musk Adds Fuel to Harris-Diddy Speculation

The online buzz around this viral moment follows recent comments from tech billionaire Elon Musk, who has publicly criticised certain celebrities’ support for Kamala Harris. In a podcast with Joe Rogan on 4 November, Musk questioned celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, who openly endorsed Harris, pointing to their alleged connections with Diddy, without disclosing details of his alleged behaviour.

Musk even called out rapper Eminem, who supported Harris at a Detroit rally in October, referencing Diddy’s notorious reputation. “You can’t trust people like that,” Musk reportedly commented, underscoring a supposed “connection” between Harris’s backers and Diddy’s controversial past.

Meanwhile, the election concluded with Donald Trump securing a second term, winning 295 electoral votes to Harris’s 226.
