Former CIA officer John Kiriakou came out in defence of FBI director Kash Patel and deputy director Dan Bongino in the Jeffrey Epstein death case and suggested the involvement of "deep state" that might have "destroyed information."
“I'm not blaming the FBI director Kash Patel or the Deputy Director Dan Bongino,” he said.
“I think that that layer beneath them, that's part of what we like to call the Deep State, has taken this bull by the horns, and they've probably destroyed information,” he added.
This came after the justice department confirmed that Epstein did not have a “client list,” and no further files from his sex trafficking case would be released, despite earlier claims by attorney general Pam Bondi suggesting otherwise.
Conservatives erupted in outrage after the DOJ ruled out more Epstein disclosures. Far-right voices like Jack Posobiec and Alex Jones slammed the decision as a cover-up, while Elon Musk mocked Pam Bondi with clown memes for backtracking on her claims about a “client list.”
Before the memo's release, Kash Patel and Dan Bongino were among the leading voices promoting conspiracy theories about Epstein.
Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former assistant, is the only associate criminally charged in connection with his crimes. She is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2021 for child sex trafficking and related offenses.

JUST IN: Former CIA officer John Kiriakou claims the deep state likely destroyed the Epstein documents long before Kash Patel and Dan Bongino got to the FBI.
