A video from a 2010 has resurfaced, showing Jeffrey Epstein responding to questions about his relationship with Donald Trump.
The clip, recently shared online by MeidasTouch, captures an exchange between Epstein and an attorney. When asked if he had a “personal relationship” with Trump, Epstein replied with a question: “What do you mean by ‘personal relationship,’ sir?” The lawyer then asked, “Have you socialised with him?” “Yes, sir,” Epstein said.
The attorney further asked: “Have you ever socialised with Donald Trump in the presence of females under the age of 18?” Epstein paused, shook his head slightly, and said: “Though I’d like to answer that question, at least today, I’m going to have to assert my fifth, sixth, and 14th amendment rights, sir.”
Epstein and Trump were once close, but reportedly fell out in 2004 over a real estate deal. Epstein was arrested for sex offences in 2006 and again in 2019, before dying in custody later that year. His death was ruled a suicide.
The Epstein scandal continues to split public opinion, especially after The Wall Street Journal reported fresh details about Trump’s past links with Epstein. Trump has since filed a defamation suit against Rupert Murdoch and the newspaper said he'd release the details of the case. Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted in 2021 for helping Jeffrey Epstein abuse underage girls, has also been called to testify before the US congress.
