After Springsteen and Eminem, Beyonce to perform in Harris's campaign rally

Send Push
Pop icon Beyonce is set to take the stage at a campaign rally for US Vice President Kamala Harris in Houston on Friday evening, NBC News reported.

Harris has previously welcomed other well-known musicians, such as Bruce Springsteen and Eminem , to join her on the campaign trail. Beyonce's 2016 hit "Freedom" has become a staple at Harris' rallies, often playing at the beginning of her events. The song was also used by Hillary Clinton during her 2016 campaign.

With the election just days away, Harris is traveling across the country to make her final appeal to voters. She is scheduled to appear in Georgia on Thursday, a crucial swing state, following her participation in a CNN town hall in Pennsylvania, another key battleground.

Next week, Harris plans to deliver a "closing argument" speech in Washington, D.C., at the same location where former President Donald Trump addressed his supporters on Jan 6., 2021, prior to the Capitol riot.

The vice president is expected to emphasize the need to move forward from the Trump era and highlight the differences between a potential Harris administration and a second Trump term. Meanwhile, Trump is also holding rallies across the country in the final days of the campaign, touting endorsements from celebrities such as wrestler Hulk Hogan and country music artists Jason Aldean and Kid Rock.

Although Texas is not considered a competitive state in the presidential race, Harris' rally coincides with a tightening Senate race between Republican Sen. Ted Cruz and Democratic Rep. Colin Allred, who is expected to be present at Friday's event. A senior Harris campaign official informed NBC News that the vice president would address the impact of abortion bans while in Texas, where a six-week abortion ban is currently in effect. Democrats have previously highlighted stories of women who have had to leave the state to receive emergency reproductive care.

Since entering the race in July, Harris has garnered a significant number of high-profile celebrity endorsements, including Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, and Billie Eilish. While Beyonce is not frequently involved in politics, she notably sang the national anthem at former President Barack Obama's first inauguration in 2008 and performed at a rally in Ohio during the final days of Hillary Clinton's campaign in 2016.
