PM Modi to virtually inaugurate Pune Metro, projects worth Rs 11,200 crore in Maharashtra

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various projects worth over Rs 11,200 crore in Maharashtra through video conferencing on Sunday.

According to a press release from the PMO, PM Modi will inaugurate the Pune Metro section of district court to Swargate which will also mark the completion of Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1).

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for 5.46 km long Swargate-Katraj Extension of Pune Metro Phase-1 to be developed at the cost of around Rs 2,955 crore.

Further, PM Modi will launch Rs. 6,400 crore worth Bidkin Industrial Area project covering an expansive 7,855 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program. The project, situated 20 kms south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, developed under Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor holds immense potential as a vibrant economic hub in the Marathwada region.

PM Modi will also inaugurate Solapur Airport after the existing building was revamped to serve around 4.1 lakh passengers annually.

Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Memorial for Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s First Girls’ School at Bhidewada.

Earlier, PM Modi’s visit to Pune was cancelled due to heavy rains in the city. He was scheduled to flag off the Metro corridor and launch development projects of ₹22,600 crore, ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections.
