NEW DELHI: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Friday that while politics is meant to focus on social service, nation-building, and development, it has now become more about 'power politics'. Gadkari , a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ), made this statement during a felicitation ceremony for Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
"Politics today doesn't suffer from differences of opinion, but rather from a lack of ideas. The real meaning of politics is about 'samajkaran' (social service), 'rashtrakaran' (nation-building), and 'vikaskaran' (development). However, its definition has changed and is now centered around 'sattakaran' (power politics)," he said.
