SRIKAKULAM : Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu acknowledged his govt's financial constraints but emphasized their commitment to humanitarian values. He criticized the previous administration for system deterioration and discussed ongoing challenges in free sand and liquor policies. Naidu warned coalition party leaders not to involve themselves in free sand, stating that violators would face the Essential Commodity Act and PD Act.
During his first visit to Srikakulam district as chief minister, Naidu inaugurated Deepam 2.0 , fulfilling one of the Super Six promises. He launched the free gas cylinder distribution program at Eedupuram in the Icchapuram Assembly Constituency.
At beneficiary Ambati Shantamma's residence, Naidu distributed the first cylinder and demonstrated its use by preparing tea for himself and others. He then visited Balijepalli Janaki, a lone woman scheme beneficiary, presenting her with the NTR Bharosa pension of Rs. 4,000. After learning about her situation, he approved Rs. 2 lakh in financial assistance and ordered officials to arrange housing for her.
In his public address, Naidu highlighted that Andhra Pradesh provides the highest pension amount of Rs 4,000 nationwide. He compared the amount with other states. He announced plans to empower Dwacra women , stating, "We will take them to the next level. Around 50% of entrepreneurs would come from the Dwacra women as part of the one entrepreneur from one family."
The chief minister outlined development plans for Srikakulam district, including a 10,000-acre industrial park near Mulapadu Port and an airport between Srikakulam and Icchapuram. He provided updates on the Polavaram project , Amaravathi construction, and Visakha Steel Plant revival. He said phase I works of Polavaram are continuing and phase II works will be there next. He said the Vizag Railway Zone issue was cleared as the govt has given the land to railways. The Zone Office foundation stone will be laid in a few days, he announced.
