Apple ’s iPhone launch roadmap may have just leaked online. According to a TechRadar report, the company may be planning to launch a foldable iPhone along with a potential iPhone Air 2 over the next couple of years. The report cites a report by analysts JP Morgan (via @MaxWinebach) based on the supply chain information which says that Apple may bring five phones in 2026 – iPhone 18 , iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Air 2 and foldable iPhone. The report counters speculation about the iPhone Air's discontinuation. Instead, it speculates that the Cupertino-based company may be planning for an iPhone Air 2 in late 2026 with a 6.5-inch OLED display and single 48MP rear camera. Let’s take a look at the expected specs of foldable iPhone and iPhone Air 2
Apple iPhone Air 2 expected features
Successor to this year’s iPhone Air, the iPhone Air 2 is likely to come in 2026. According to rumours, the handset is speculated to come with the same single-lens 48MP rear camera.
A MacRumours report quotes Weibo leakster Digital Chat Station who said that the second-generation iPhone Air will retain the distinctive horizontal camera plateau. The smartphone is expected to launch with iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Apple’s foldable iPhone expected features
Apple’s first foldable iPhone is reportedly expected to arrive in the second half of 2026, and early leaks suggest it will look and function quite differently from the current iPhone lineup. The device is said to launch without Face ID, possibly to make room for a thinner folding design. Instead, Apple might include a 24MP under-display selfie camera, allowing for a clean, uninterrupted screen. Another 24MP camera is expected on the outer cover display, making it easier to take selfies or video calls without unfolding the phone.
On the back, the foldable iPhone may feature a dual-lens setup with two 48MP sensors — one standard and one ultrawide — but no telephoto lens. This simplified camera system seems to be a design trade-off to maintain the slim build that a foldable phone requires. While the camera specs may sound modest compared to Apple’s Pro models, the focus for this device appears to be on delivering a sleek design, new display technology, and the flexibility of a foldable form factor.
