Dana White announced a new partnership with Meta
The UFC-Meta collaboration, described as a "game changer" by UFC President and CEO Dana White, will revolutionize how fans interact with the sport through Meta’s ecosystem, including AI, virtual reality, and social media.
The deal establishes Meta as the UFC’s first-ever Official Fan Technology Partner, with its branding prominently displayed in the Octagon during Pay-Per-View and Fight Night events. As of writing the piece, the financial details remain undisclosed, but fans expect that the scope of Meta’s involvement is extensive. The partnership covers a broad spectrum of Meta’s platforms, including Meta AI, Meta Glasses, Meta Quest, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads, promising to reshape the way fans experience UFC content.
“Whats up, everybody? UFC and Meta just signed a massive long-term partnership,” White said in the video announcement revealing the partnership with Mark Zuckerberg 's company. “Meta will now become UFC’s first ever official fan-technology partner. This is great news for UFC fans. Why? Because this means that Meta will use their bad a** apps and technology like Instagram, Facebook, Threads app and Meta AI to create amazing content and experiences for UFC fans.”
“We’ve already started to work with Meta to create a new fighter ranking system that will debut later this year. We’ll also be using META’s AI powered glasses to capture UFC content and we’re gonna do things with Meta that will blow UFC fans away.”
He added, “Next few years will be absolute game changer for fans of this sport.”
According to Grant Norris-Jones, TKO’s head of global partnerships, the UFC explored numerous partnership opportunities before choosing Meta, recognizing the tech giant’s ability to provide innovative solutions across multiple fronts. "Meta will be our official marketing partner, our official AI glasses partner, our official wearable partner, an official social media partner," Norris-Jones explained. "They’re making a significant investment into our ecosystem."
