Can Anthony Richardson learn from Mahomes ’ resilience?

In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Colts selected Anthony Richardson fourth overall, hoping he could evolve into a Josh Allen-like threat. But at 4-5, Colts fans are losing hope, especially after Richardson's recent “tiredness” incident.

Now, he's getting lessons from Patrick Mahomes. During the Chiefs' game against the Buccaneers on November 4, Mahomes tweaked the same ankle he injured last week. Though the injury scared him, he insisted on staying in the game, defying coach Andy Reid's request to sit out.

This stands in stark contrast to Richardson, who exited during the third quarter against the Texans due to fatigue, raising questions and criticism. Mahomes' determination sets a new standard for resilience in the NFL.

Patrick Mahomes is a comeback king

In a thrilling showdown, Patrick Mahomes sent Chiefs fans into a frenzy after rolling his already-tender ankle late in the fourth quarter. As he hit the ground in pain, the stadium went silent, and the Chiefs’ medical team rushed to his aid. With hearts racing, fans watched as Mahomes was helped off the field, but true to his fighter spirit, he made a stunning return!

After a quick check in the medical tent, Mahomes was back, determined to lead his team to victory. Coach Andy Reid half-joked about Mahomes having “the loosest ankles in America” but the star quarterback was not backing down.

With grit and determination, he orchestrated a crucial 15-play, 78-yard drive, connecting with DeAndre Hopkins for a touchdown to take the lead. Although the Buccaneers forced overtime, Mahomes was ready to shine once more. He led a masterful 10-play, 70-yard march, delivering the final blow to secure a thrilling 30-24 win and keep the Chiefs undefeated at 8-0. What a game, and what an incredible comeback by Mahomes.
