Jake Paul ready to KO Badou Jack; Jack calls it“easy money,” says, “why not?”

Send Push
Jake Paul isn’t just thinking about his June 28 showdown with Julio César Chávez Jr. , he’s already mapping out a path to world titles, and he wants to start with Badou Jack .

Speaking to TMZ Sports after a press conference in Los Angeles earlier this week, Paul confirmed that he’s interested in fighting Jack and said behind-the-scenes talks are already in motion.

“I’m super interested,” Paul said. “I had Nakisa [Bidarian] contact his team behind the scenes, so those discussions are happening.”

Paul, who holds an 11–1 record as a professional boxer, said he believes he can take down Jack, who is currently the WBC cruiserweight champion, holder of the iconic green belt, with a 29–3–3 record.

“For sure,” Paul added confidently.

While Paul has previously faced former world champions, a bout with Jack would mark his first against an active titleholder. Jack, a 41-year-old Swedish boxer, has held world titles in three different divisions—WBC super middleweight, WBA light heavyweight, and WBC cruiserweight.

Jack responded to Paul’s ambition in an earlier press conference, making it clear he sees the fight as a lucrative and manageable opportunity:

“I never heard about that [Paul’s claims to win by KO], whatever. It is a money fight. It is an easy fight and it is a money fight, so why not?” Jack said.

The two have shared a fight card before—Jack fought on the same night Paul lost to Tommy Fury in 2023—so the Swedish champion is no stranger to Paul’s place in boxing.

Despite the 13-year age gap between them, Jack didn’t appear concerned. Known for his technical skill and experience, he’s ready to take the fight if it makes sense financially and competitively.

Jake Paul’s growing ambition: titles and top names

Jake Paul’s aspirations now stretch far beyond YouTube rivalries and novelty bouts. With the Chávez Jr. clash looming, he’s already naming some of boxing’s biggest stars as future targets.

In an interview with The Schmo (reported May 15, 2025), Paul listed an ambitious lineup of potential opponents:

“Yeah, look, I mean, we’re in discussions with a lot of names, Gervonta Davis , Anthony Joshua , Badou Jack, Ryan Garcia , KSI , Tommy Fury. So there’s a lot of people on the hit list. But Badou Jack excites me a lot and I definitely want to become world champion, so going after Zordo or Badou sounds like a good game plan to me. But Canelo’s still on the horizon.”

Paul’s interest in Gilberto “Zordo” Ramírez, the unified cruiserweight champion, signals that he’s focusing heavily on that weight division, though he hasn’t ruled out bouts across a wide range of weight classes. The names on Paul’s radar span from lightweight (Gervonta Davis at 135 lbs) all the way to heavyweight (Anthony Joshua, who typically weighs over 250 lbs).

His list also includes:

Ryan Garcia (super lightweight, 140 lbs)

Tommy Fury (light heavyweight range, ~175–183 lbs)

KSI (cruiserweight, 200 lbs)

Canelo Álvarez , who has competed between 154 lbs and 175 lbs and is now a two-time undisputed super middleweight champion

Paul’s rise began in 2020 and has included wins over former MMA champions Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, plus a highlight KO of Nate Robinson. He suffered his only loss to Tommy Fury in 2023 but has since rebounded with a win over Nate Diaz and three consecutive knockouts.

First, chavez jr.

Before any of that happens, Paul must get past Julio César Chávez Jr., a former WBC middleweight champion with deep boxing roots. That fight is scheduled for June 28, 2025, in California.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, Paul didn’t mince words about how that bout will go:

“He’s not gonna beat me,” Paul said. “He’s just gonna be another legend that I’m gonna beat and embarrass.”

Chávez Jr. has yet to respond publicly to the bold prediction, but the stakes are clear: for Jake Paul, defeating Chávez is just the next step in a campaign for gold.
