Fans react as Formula 1 announces former F1 champion Paolo Barilla's pasta brand as an official partner: “Pasta makes you fasta”

The Formula 1 2025 season is already over one month in, and new brand partnerships continue to be signed in order to add to the motorsport’s revenue. After announcing its official vodka partner, F1 has now announced its official pasta partner, Barilla. It is the pasta brand of Paolo Barilla , who is the deputy chairman of the Barilla Group and a former F1 driver who raced for Minardi between 1989 and 1990.

Formula 1 gets an official pasta partnerThe new deal announcement was shared on Formula 1’s X page with the caption: “Formula 1 is delighted to announce @Barilla, the world’s biggest pasta producer as an Official Partner of Formula 1 in a multi-year deal starting this year. As an Official Partner, Barilla will have a strong presence both on and off the track and will encourage connection and the spirit of togetherness among fans.” It was accompanied by a picture of F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, Paolo Barilla, and Barilla Chief Category & Marketing Officer Ilaria Lodigiani sitting with bowls of pasta near an F1 track.

The tweet received some interesting reactions from F1 fans. One wrote, “FIA falling apart at the seams, 2026 engine regs in complete turmoil. F1: pasta vibes only.” Another tweeted, “Interesting partnerships.Getting wealthier everyday.” A comment also read: “Pasta make you Fasta.”


Sharing the news, Formula 1 President Stefano Domenicali said in a statement: “We are thrilled to welcome Barilla into the Formula 1 family, a collaboration flavoured with passion and heritage. Two stories that share the same values of excellence, authenticity and the pleasure of living extraordinary moments together. We cannot wait to start this incredible adventure with our new partner, certain that they will add an elevated taste to the emotions of F1.”

Vice President of Barilla Group, Paolo Barilla, added: “A lightning-fast F1 car and a delicious plate of pasta: what do they have in common? At first, it may not be obvious, but behind both, and the effort that goes into making them, are skilled professionals, passionate and determined, driven by the desire to keep improving. Our greatest satisfaction is being able to offer all the men and women of F1, after an intense competition, a well-deserved plate of pasta.”

As the deal has been signed, Barilla’s Pasta Bars can be spotted in the Paddock and the Formula 1 Paddock Club, just like Belvedere, which is Formula 1’s official vodka partner.
