It is extremely hard when there are tidal waves of unfortunate circumstances happening one after another in our life. During this time we begin to question ‘Why is this happening to me? I have done nothing wrong, yet why must I suffer?’
To find answers to our present misfortune, it is important to understand the theory of karma. This adverse period which we are undergoing is a result of demerit karmas which we ourselves had sown in our previous life and unfortunately, we are having to suffer their effects in this life.
Karma is a key factor for our happiness and for our sorrow. Every human being is trapped in the perpetual cycle of charging and discharging karmas and this is one of the principal reasons in the foundation of the cycle of our birth and death. Whilst experiencing the effect of our past life’s karma, we simultaneously bind new karmas for our next life, the arching factor being our inner intent during that time.
For example, if you decide to donate happily to charity, you will bind merit karma and if you donate grudgingly, then you bind demerit karma. Many people believe it is their actions or their words which bind karmas; but mainly, it is our intent which binds future karmas. So, our present circumstances are a direct result of our merit or demerit karmas and the primary source for the positive or negative situation that we are placed in right now.
How to win over our negative circumstances?
Let’s make an attempt to find positives in our life and focus all our energies into that.
The more we think about a bad situation, the worse it becomes for us. Hence, choose to occupy your mind with some or the other positive thing, but do not allow the mind to remain idle, or else it may revert to a negative state.
Seek refuge in your faith. As a result, you will gain positive energy and peace of mind.
You have a vast amount of positive energy and strength within you, draw on these to overcome this difficult period.
Every circumstance has a start and finish time period, therefore remember good times are coming and hold onto hope!
Preserve a positive attitude . This will influence a positive outcome.
Listen to music, exercise, or do things which will make you happy and take your mind off the present adverse circumstance.
Reach out and tell those that you trust how you are feeling and seek advice from them as to how to tap your positive energies.
Perceive this period as a chance to win over your difficult time.
