Actress Charul Malik recently gave an exclusive interview to Times Of India TV, where she opened up about her journey in the industry, upcoming projects and more. She also expressed her anger and frustration over the recent Pahalgam terror attack. Here’s a look:-

Anchoring to acting – how has the journey been?

The journey has been splendid. It was a huge twist that came to my life when, from anchoring, I got into acting with Bhabiji Ghar Pe Hai – a fantastic show – and what a ride it’s been. It was pushing my limits and doing things I had not done, but I love to test my limits. Ever grateful and thankful. The only difference is, as an anchor you’re at your work non-stop, whereas acting has those breaks between shots, so it’s slower, but it’s fantastic.

What’s next for you?

I am into my second season of the travel show with Doordarshan called Desi Rasoi Se. The shoot begins from next month and I am truly looking forward to it because it travels across the country and I love to travel. The first season was a huge success, so I am looking forward to this one now.

On the recent Pahalgam attacks – what are your thoughts?

Pakistan has made a blunder. It’s important that they be taught a lesson. To promote terrorism is something they have been good at. Provoking India is something they have done in their ways, but now it’s time they be given an answer. Our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi Ji will definitely give a hard-hitting answer to them, and is baar zordaar tareeke se diya jaayega.

Why such a long hiatus from being seen on screen?

Not a long gap as such, but yes, I needed a slight break. Also, with every actor, this pace is normal – gap and breaks between shows. I also have been very particular about what I take on as well. Do not want to jump into taking anything up where you regret it later. I will wait for what’s right.

One closest friend you have in the industry.

My nearest and bestest friend is Rupal Patel. She is a beautiful person and has been with me through thick and thin. I look up to her hugely and I have learnt a lot from her. She is so consistent with her friendship, and she is a blessing in my life.
