Deutsche Bank honours Ratan Tata's legacy with commemorative plaque at erstwhile Tata House

MUMBAI: Deutsche Bank unveiled a plaque in memory of Ratan Tata at the bank’s Mumbai headquarters, which was once the private residence of the Tata family. Tata and his siblings, including current Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata spent their childhood in this building.




The family sold the residence, then known as Tata House , to Deutsche Bank in 1992. The Tata Group has had a long business association with the German bank since its establishment in India in 1980.




Deutsche Bank has advised the Tata Group on several M&As, including the acquisition of Corus Steel for 6.2 billion pounds in 2007, which remains India’s largest overseas purchase to date.




The plaque was unveiled by Noel and Deutsche Bank’s global president, James Von Moltke. “Ratan Tata’s leadership has left a lasting impact on India’s business landscape. We are proud to commemorate his legacy in a place that holds special significance for both the Tata family and Deutsche Bank,” Moltke said.
