HYDERABAD: Rated-4 data centre operator CtrlS Datacenters Ltd is setting up a greenfield 12mw data centre at Bhopal at an investment of Rs 500 crore. The data centre is slated to come up over a five-acre parcel of land allotted by the Madhya Pradesh government at the Badwai IT Park in Bhopal. The project is expected to generate around 200 jobs in a phased manner.
The AI-ready data centre will be equipped with advanced cooling and security systems. At full capacity, the data centre is projected to generate an annual state goods and services tax (SGST) of Rs 7.5 crore and a central GST (CGST) of Rs 7.5 crore.
The strategic investment will boost the region's digital ecosystem by supporting high‑performance cloud computing, AI, and data processing applications, Hyderabad-based CtrlS said on Monday.
The groundbreaking for the project was conducted virtually by MP chief minister Dr Mohan Yadav on April 27, 2025, at Indore during the Tech Growth Conclave 2025 .
CtrlS chairman & managing director Sridhar Pinnapureddy said the company chose MP due to its strategic location in central India.
The company said the project strategically aligns with MP’s ambitious policy framework, including the IT, ITeS & ESDM Investment Promotion Policy 2023 that offers up to a 25% capital expenditure subsidy and the Global Capability Centers Policy 2025 that is targeting over 50 global tech centers as part of the state’s efforts to achieve a $2 trillion economy by 2047 by positioning itself as a destination for hi-tech investments backed by world-class digital infrastructure.
