ROORKEE: Almost 36 hours since the murder of 62-year-old Saleem on Sunday, police could not arrest the accused, his 18-year-old son, Mushahir , who allegedly killed him during a dispute while working at a brick kiln in Manglaur area.
Saleem, a resident of Balwa Gujran village in UP's Shamli district, was staying with his wife, Imrana, and son, Mushahir, at Aasra brick fields in Tanda Bhaneda village, where they worked as brick moulders. Saleem allegedly reprimanded his son for being sluggish, enraged by which Mushahir picked up a nearby spade and struck his father on his head, resulting in his death on the spot. Mushahir then fled the scene.
Senior sub-inspector Rafat Ali said, "Teams have been pressed into action for his early arrest." Tapan Susheel
