After a mass shooting at Alabama's Tuskegee University early morning, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a suspect. The agency identified the suspect as 25-year-old Jaquez Myrick, who was arrested after being found leaving the university campus with a handgun and a machine gun conversion device. At least one person was killed in the shooting that took place at around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday morning when the students of the university were celebrating a reunion event at the university campus. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a statement that at least 16 people were injured in the incident. They identified the deceased as 18-year-old male who was not a student of the university. However, there were some students among those who were injured. Jaquez Myrick, a resident of Montgomery, faces federal charges for possessing a machine gun. The police did not clarify if he was a student of the University. The shooting is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the agency said.Also read: They also revealed that while 12 people were injured in the gunfire, four other sustained injuries not related to it. A video also surfaced from the scene of the shooting showing students hiding in the parking lot as the shooter went on a rampage. Tuskegee University has cancelled classes on Monday and said that grief counsellor will be available for those who need help. The motive behind the shooting is still unclear as the investigations continue.
