Lucknow: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav attended an election rally wearing a waist belt as he said that he had unbearable pain and could only make it there after taking injection. The former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister shared a video where he can be seen lifting his shirt in a rally to show a waist belt he is wearing for back pain.

In the video, the RJD leader's aides are seen helping him to stand up as he addresses the crowd. Yadav said doctors have advised him bed rest for three weeks but he chose to fight for people.

"Due to unbearable back pain, I am roaming around among you with painkiller injections and medicines. I have also tied a belt around my waist now. The doctors have advised me to take bed rest for 3 weeks and not to stand or walk. Even in this situation, I am amongst you, for you. Elections happen once in 5 years, if I don't fight for you now, then you will have to bear poverty, inflation and unemployment for another 5 years. I will not sit quiet until I provide jobs to the youth," he wrote in Hindi.

On May 6, Tejashwi got a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test done at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) Hospital in Bihar's Patna. According to the reports, Tejashwi Yadav has been suffering from pain in his spinal segment for the last 10 days. However, the pain increased unbearably in the last four days.

In another video, posted on his X handle, Tejashwi Yadav could be seen in a wheelchair as he spoke to reporters. Despite deteriorating health, Tejashwi Yadav on Monday had participated in a public rally in Bihar's Siwan and Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj.

The Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases, from April 19 to June 1. Counting of votes will be done on June 4.
