.Television soaps are known for their masaledaar drama, but this time, the Shark Tank India pool is sizzling with controversy even before Season 4 kicks off. Judges Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, Ritesh Agarwal and Peyush Bansal are all making a comeback to the show. Along with them, the nation was also all set to see Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, back in the judges' panel. But alas, it looks like the restaurant king has been served an exit order right in the middle of filming.WHAT WENT DOWN? Here’s the gossip. Deepinder Goyal had already started filming for the show and one episode was already in place. He was ready to dish out his expertise on startups, entrepreneurship and everything business-y. But just as things were heating up, BOOM! News hit the set that Swiggy, Zomato’s arch-nemesis in the food delivery battlefield, had come on board as a major sponsor of the show. Also Read: Seems like Swiggy isn’t just delivering food anymore; it's also delivering some serious Shark Tank drama. The second Swiggy’s sponsorship deal was sealed, poor Deepinder had to pack his bags and head out. Swiggy in the tank and Deepinder repping Zomato would’ve been like mixing oil with water on Shark Tank India.

“The startup culture of India is too much about showmanship. I went there (on Shark Tank India) to set a different narrative, be real and change how people perceive. I felt a moral obligation to go there. I shot for one weekend and gave my perspective. I, unfortunately, can’t go back because Swiggy sponsored Shark Tank and kicked me out, at least that’s what I heard,” Deepinder Goyal said at the ET Startup Awards. Also Read: Now, everyone’s wondering: who will replace Deepinder? Will we see a last-minute switcheroo or will the other sharks step up to fill the void? On a similar note, Swiggy is reportedly close to finalising a Rs 25 crore sponsorship deal for Shark Tank Season 4. According to reports, it included a clause demanding Goyal’s departure from the panel.
