While it could be interpreted as Google providing search results based on the location settings, the news stories that came underneath were about the US elections.

Unlike the previous election years, this year the race between the Democrat and the Republican candidates is tight. On one hand, there is Kamala Harris, who replaced Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket earlier this year. As per the pre-election surveys done by various organizations in collaboration with different media channels, the race in tied in the seven key states, or battleground states, with no candidate having a decisive edge. The results of the US election results will be declared in the coming days, as the polls close today in the US at 6 p.m. Eastern Time. The announcement of the results depends on the counting process and could take more than five days. For instance, it took five days for the 2020 election results to come, while the 2016 election results were announced on the night of the polls itself.
