Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus Of Tata Group, Dies In Mumbai At 86

Mumbai: Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata conglomerate, passed away in Mumbai at 86 years of age. He was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Monday after his condition deteriorated due to age-related health issues.Harsh Goenka, chairman of RPG Enterprises, in his X post said, "The clock has stopped ticking. The Titan passes away. #RatanTata was a beacon of integrity, ethical leadership and philanthropy, who has imprinted an indelible mark on the world of business and beyond. He will forever soar high in our memories. R.I.P."On Wednesday, Ratan Tata was admitted to the intensive care unit care unit (ICU) after his blood pressure dropped, as per reports.This came just two days after he issued a statement regarding his health stating, “I am currently undergoing medical check-ups due to my age and related medical conditions. There is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits and request that the public and media refrain from spreading misinformation.”Tributes poured in for the renowned industrialist as people across the country remembered his significant contribution to both business and society.Remembering Rata TataBorn on December 28, 1937, Ratan Naval Tata was an Indian industrialist, philanthropist, and the former chairman of Tata Sons. He led the Tata Group from 1990 to 2012, serving as interim chairman from October 2016 to February 2017.He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Cornell University and succeeded JRD Tata as chairman of Tata Sons upon JRD's retirement in 1991.In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honour, in 2008, following the Padma Bhushan in 2000.
