'Pakistani Bowlers Consider Themselves Bigger..': Ex-PAK Batter Launches Brutal 'Morne Morkel' Dig on Shaheen, Rauf

Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali took a no-holds-barred dig at the current lot of bowlers while comparing their attitude to that of the Indian bowlers who came up with a dominant show against Bangladesh. Ali stated that Pakistani players considered themselves bigger than Morne Morkel, who was the bowling coach of Pakistan for a short while before being given the same role by the Indian team.Morkel was all smiles as he enjoyed a masterful performance from Jasprit Bumrah and the other Indian bowlers during the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. Bumrah contributed four wickets in the first innings while Ravichandran Ashwin picked up a six-fer in the second innings. The Proteas pacer previously had a short stint as Pakistan's bowling coach however, things were hardly ideal during his time across the border. Having taken up the role in June, Morkel exited the Pakistan camp after their failure to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 stage. With six weeks remaining on his contract, the legendary bowler cut ties with the Pakistani side early, before joining Lucknow Super Giants however, soon, the BCCI came calling and he simply couldn't say no. Basit Ali has highlighted how things went wrong for Morkel in Pakistan and what an incredible turnaround it has been for him as India's bowling coach. "The Pakistani bowlers consider themselves to be bigger than cricket. They thought that Morkel was nothing in front of us," Ali said on his YouTube channel. "We got to know the difference. This is the same Bangladesh played against Pakistan, where it seemed as if Pakistan were completely on the back foot. This is the same Bangladesh that whitewashed Pakistan. The difference is of mindset, thinking, and class," the veteran added. While Bangladesh recently inflicted a clean sweep on Pakistan on their home soil, India dished out a dominant show in the first Test and the BCCI have named an unchanged squad for the series finale.
