Ahead of Kamala Harris' event at Michigan State University on Sunday, photos and videos surfaced showing a large crowd and a long queue outside the venue. They were shared on X by a Michigan-based reporter.
The Vice President is traveling through Michigan in the final hours of the last weekend before the election on Tuesday. Trump, on the other hand, is touring Pennsylvania, a key swing state that could give the decisive verdict in who goes to the Oval Office. Prior to her event at the Michigan State University, Harris was at a Black church in northwest Detroit. She interacted with voters at the church and spoke about her upbringing in California, recalling how she and her sister Maya sang in the local church's choir. The Church, called Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ, is located on Schaefer Highway in northwest Detroit."Growing up in a church, I learned that faith is a verb and we show it in our actions, in our deeds, in our service and in hard times," Harris said.“So church, in just two days we have the power to decide the fate of our nation — for generations to come,” she said. “For I know the plans I have for you. They are the plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” “Not enough to only pray, not enough to just talk, we must act on the plans he has in store for us," she continued. "And we must make them real through our works, in our daily choices, in service to our communities and yes, in our democracy.”A portion of the line to get into Vice President Kamala Harris’ Michigan State University event tonight: pic.twitter.com/NWRc2Ox4vB
