New Delhi: A man in Shahdara district's Anand Vihar area in Delhi, was beaten to death by his friend after the two got into an argument over Rs 400 for liquor, the police said on Wednesday. The heated conversation turned violent within a few minutes, and thethe accused, Ankit, attacked his friend with a brick. Ankit admitted himself to a de-addiction center after the crime to avoid police's suspicion. However, he was caught after the police checked into over 150 CCTV footage, and other evidences. During the interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, the Delhi police confirmed. During the argument between the two friends, Ankit threw a brick at Nirala, the victim. He left Nirala bleeding on the spot, and ran away. After a while, Nirala succumbed to his injuries as he had received no medical treatment. Meanwhile, Ankit started living in a de-addiction center so he could stay off the police radar.
The Delhi police carried out several technical analyses to zero in on the culprit. The investigation led them to Ankit, following his arrest. Upon interrogation, Ankit also confessed that he used the stolen money to buy more alcohol.
The Anand Vihar Police Station team cracked a "blind murder case" with sharp investigation and swift action within 48 hours. Vikaspuri Incident In a similar incident, on the night of 15 October in Vikaspuri, a man named Sanjay was stabbed to death. The incident took place in Vikaspuri area. In the prima-facie investigation, the police suspect that Sanjay was in the area with his friend Manish when they got into an argument with some local residents.
