The best countries in the world have been chosen in the 2024 Readers' Choice Awards, with the top destination once again being crowned number one by from across the world.
This magical country was named the world's favorite travel destination by the readers of in the 2024 edition of the magazine's annual Readers' Choice Awards with an impressive score of 95.32. The Readers' Choice Awards are determined via a voting process which sees the public cast votes for their preferred winners, with the number one spot then decided based on the total number of votes received within each category.
The prestigious honour of winning the ultimate destination in the world goes to . Thailand, Switzerland, France, and New Zealand all ranked highly in the 2024 awards too but Japan cinched the top spot with their win marking the second year in a row by the magazine's readers.

Japan has long held an appeal among intrepid travellers and is often seen on many travel bucket lists thanks to its stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, cleanliness, high quality of life and its pristine environment, all contributing to its appeal.
The perceived kindness of Japanese people also impacts many travelers being drawn to the country, with many lucky enough to visit also declaring it a land of true contrast with rich centuries-old tradition mixed with futuristic innovation.
"It's official: you can't get enough of Japan with the country earning high marks for safety but, far more importantly, it was your favourite for things to do and see and culture," wrote the publication.
"You'll still find incredible restaurants, ultra-relaxing onsens, Shinto temples, cherry blossoms, and impeccably clean and efficient high-speed trains, which run along some of the most scenic rail routes in the world."
Japan's hotels were also recognised in the Condé Nast Traveler's top 10 hotels in the country, with the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi and The Tokyo Station Hotel among the top winners.
However, the publication also noted how Japan's new and exciting cultural offers have also seen it win best country yet again.
These include "a hilltop castle from 1599 where you can book overnight stays, new galleries and exhibits on Naoshima Island, ultra-stylish glamping resorts, a buzzy gin scene and a growing roster of sushi bars helmed by female chefs are still a major rarity in this tradition-bound country".
Japan's recent World Heritage designee has also added to tourists flocking to Japan and include the Jomon Prehistoric Sites in the north "that are entirely uninhabited by humans and filled with endangered species".
Aside from culture and tradition, Japan also offers some of the world's most spectacular landscapes including Kyoto's ancient temples and gardens, Mount Fuji, the Seto Inland Sea and Shirakawa-go's traditional villages, among many others.
"Even with the crowds, the whole place felt so calm and peaceful," wrote one review on TripAdvisor.
"Everything is gorgeous and it's such a nice spot to just slow down and take it all in, definitely one a 'wow' moment visiting Japan."
