While iPhone smartwatch choices don't extend that far beyond the Apple Watch, Android leaves you with several options no matter what brand of phone you have. Though Samsung Galaxy Watch smartwatches have features that work best with a Samsung phone, you can still pick up one of these wearables and use them with any Android smartphone.
If you want an all-singing, all-dancing Galaxy Watch, then you might want to take advantage of the latest offer on Amazon. The retail giant is currently running a "limited time deal" on the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, the top-of-the-line smartwatch with rugged design and more smarts than other Samsung branded watches.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra can be yours for £299, which is half the usual £599 RRP. It's rare to see a 50 percent discount on such a premium device. In fact, Amazon price tracker website Camelcamelcamel confirms it's the cheapest this smartwatch has ever been sold for on Amazon.
This is the 2024 model of the Galaxy Watch Ultra with 32GB storage. A newer 2025 model is physically identical, but doubles the storage to 64GB. Other than that, the specs of these two versions are identical, meaning this older model is a perfectly good purchase.
The only thing you'd need more storage for are third-party apps and for downloading music to apps such as Spotify for offline listening. 32GB should be more than enough on-wrist storage for all but the most demanding of buyers.
One of the best perks of the Watch Ultra over the Galaxy Watch 8 and other older models is its two-day battery life. For a smartwatch running full Wear OS, Google's wearable operating system, this is solid longevity. Only the OnePlus Watch 2 or 3 offers more, with four to five days.

The Watch Ultra in this deal is available in the white strap version only, with the body of the watch itself a striking silver.
Unlike other Galaxy Watches it has a Quick Button on the right edge next to the other two buttons, which you can set to perform an action, such as starting a workout. That's partly because the Ultra is a fitness-focused device, with accurate GPS tracking for runs, hikes, cycling and swimming, as well as the ability to log scores of other activities in the Samsung Health app.
The 1.5-inch display is a crisp, bright OLED, with the option for an always-on display meaning you don't have to perform any wrist gymnastics to turn on the screen to see the time. Samsung's BioActive sensor will track your heart rate, blood oxygen and skin temperature 24/7 to build a picture of your health. Wear it day and night and you'll soon collect a lot of activity and sleep data to get into.
As this is one of Amazon's limited time deals, there is no indication how long this half price offer will last - but one positive (aside from the price!) is that you don't need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber to get this deal.
