Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov claimed a is "inevitable" in light of recent Ukrainian attacks against his country. During a recent episode of his Sunday Evening With Vladimir Solovyov, the pro-Kremlin personality described recent military actions by Ukraine, , as "a terrible tragedy". He added: "Most importantly, does the world have an idea as to where this is going? We see that a world war is inevitable. So, what are we going to do with this?"
One of the members of his panel, former KGB sleeper agent in the United States Andrey Bezrukov, argued that the time has come to resort to "preventive strikes" against the West. He said: "These blasts that have taken place and these attacks on our core infrastructure and our nuclear infrastructure, this is systematic testing to see until which point we will put up with this. This is preparation for nuclear war." He added there is now the need in Russia to "revise" how the nuclear triad is protected. He also said: "Realising that the West has much more potential now we will have to resort to preventive strikes as opposed to retaliatory counter-strikes because we may not be able to conduct a retaliatory counter-strike if these sorts of means are being used, it can be compensated only with them being preventatively knocked out down to nothing, there is no other way."
