Transfer news: Gyokeres Arsenal reaction telling as Newcastle see £25m bid rejected

The transfer window is hotting up as Premier League clubs put their squads together for next season, which is only a few weeks away. Arsenal are trying to complete a deal for Viktor Gyokeres, though negotiations are proving messy with his current club Sporting CP.

He has been a target of Manchester United, who have completed the signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. They are unlikely to stop there, however, with another striker and a goalkeeper on INEOS' agenda before the end of the summer.

Meanwhile Liverpool and Chelsea continue to splash the cash. Arne's Slot's side will take their spending to the £300million mark through Hugo Ekitike and if Luis Diaz leaves, another forward is expected to come in.
