Tiger Woods wore item of clothing to get revenge on rival 19 years after failed mind games

Tiger Woods waited nearly two decades to get his own back on a caddie who poked the bear during the 2000 Presidents Cup. Paul Tesori was on the receiving end of the 15-time major champion's brutal retaliation after trying and failing to get in his head.

It all started when Tesori, while caddying for three-time major winner Vijay Singh, turned up to the Sunday singles match between his player and Woods sporting a cap which had the words 'TIGER WHO?' embroidered on the back.

The attempt to derail Woods failed miserably as he won the match 2&1 en route to an overall victory for the United States over their International Rivals.

Woods seemingly let that stew for a full 19 years before reuniting with Tesori at the 2019 edition of the Presidents Cup with his own statement item of clothing. Donning a white cap turned back-to-front, he had written in permanent marker the words: "PAUL WHO? 2 and 1".

There would appear to be no genuine bad blood between the pair as a beaming Woods and a smiling Tesori posed for photos to commemorate the famous incident.

And Tesori claims that Woods asks him to recount the circumstances behind his audacious 'TIGER WHO?' moment on an annual basis.

"Tiger makes me tell the story every year," Tesori, who began working with world No 24 Tom Kim this summer, told The Caddie Network. "I showed up on Sunday and the ball boys had these 12 hats made up which said 'Tiger who?' on the back.

"23 of the 24 players had signed their flag, Tiger hadn't. Vijay thought it was funny. The international team had no chance of winning. And so, for me, it was funny.

"We're one up through three, we go to the fourth hole and Tiger had about 18 feet for bogey, Vijay had seven feet for birdie. Vijay says: 'Tiger that's good', and he picks it up, but we don't hear anything.

"Vijay putts it down to a millimetre. Vijay said: 'Did [Tiger] say anything?', and I looked to the side, and Tiger had his arms crossed with this look on his face. And so Vijay said: 'I think he saw your hat and I don't think he likes it'."
