When you're craving something hearty and satisfying for dinner, you can't go wrong with a bowl of . Even in the height of summer, not a day goes by where I don't think about it - and those creamy sauces are most definitely the best.
But when the weather's warm, the last thing you want to do is spend ages over the hob or oven up dinner. So now that summer seems like it has arrived, I've got the perfect pasta sauce for you to try. It's made in the air fryer, so all you need to do is blend it up afterwards and serve.

I've been on an air fryer hype recently, sharing my favourite recipes from to . And this pasta sauce, which is made from just five ingredients, is another one of my go-to's.
It's my take on the baked feta pasta that was doing the rounds a while ago, but with the addition of sweet pointed peppers and fresh basil for a deeper flavour. And unlike other recipes, you don't need to switch the oven on for this one at all.
The sauce is ready in under 30 minutes, then it's just a case of mixing it up with your favourite pasta shape. This can be enjoyed hot or cold, and the feta makes it so creamy and flavourful - yet it's packed with veggies too. Here's everything you need to make this recipe, which serves two.
Ingredients
- One large pointed red pepper
- Eight cherry tomatoes
- Two garlic cloves
- A bunch of fresh basil
- 100g feta cheese
- Chipotle seasoning (optional)
Method
Chop up your pepper into large chunks and peel the garlic cloves. Grab your air fryer basket and add the veggies, minus the basil, and drizzle with salt, pepper and olive oil. Give it a good mix to combine.
Add the feta in the middle, and air fry at 160C for 25-30 minutes, checking and stirring the vegetables if need be. You want them to be slightly charred, as this is what's going to give that amazing flavour.

Allow the contents of the air fryer to cool slightly before popping in a blender with the fresh basil and whizzing until smooth. Meanwhile, boil your pasta of choice in some salted water, reserving some of the water before you drain it out.
You can just add the sauce straight into the pasta with a splash of the water, or if you want to add more flavour, allow it to heat slightly in a pan and add some chipotle pepper or chilli flakes.
Add the pasta and water to loosen it up, and mix until everything is glossy and combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve with a generous sprinkle of parmesan on top.
