Inside Ronnie O'Sullivan's rollercoaster romance with TV star Laila Rouass as pair split

Snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan's whirlwind romance with TV star Laila Rouss has reportedly ended after 15 years.

Split rumours were sparked after the actress was spotted on screens without her engagement ring during an appearance on This Morning.

According to The Sun, the couple have decided to split up and are "going in different directions".

However, it wasn't always heartbreak as the pair once spoke about the instant attraction after crossing paths in 2012.

They met when Laila was house-hunting and came across Ronnie's home for sale, and upon hearing she needed a new property the world champion contacted an estate agent who happened to be a friend, to organise a date.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Laila recalled: "It happened by accident. I was shown around Ronnie's house by his father, who told his son about meeting me.

"Ronnie called the estate agent, a friend of mine, and asked me out via her."

Within four months of romance, Ronnie and Laila moved in together in Essex, alongside her daughter Inez from previous marriage.

The couple was also engaged the following year, however, cracks began to appear in their relationship after Laila announced their break-up in 2022.

She penned on social media: "After nearly ten years of love and memories, Ronnie and I have parted ways."

However, within weeks they seemingly smoothed things over as Ronnie insisted: "It's good," and told the Mirror: "She's great. I love her.

"She's great company and I love being around her," as Laila backtracked: "I can't imagine him not being in my life."

This marks the second time the couple have separated, after trying to make it work by "throwing themselves" back into a relationship.

It is said that the seven-time world champion put plenty of effort into rekindling the relationship by "posting pictures of them online at home together and saying romantic things" but that has ultimately fizzled out.
