A man was left "choking on the smell" as he looked around one of London's cheapest properties. YouTuber David Burnip, known as the Wandering Turnip, was "mind-blown"when he attended a viewing of the £500,000 property.
The 11-bedroom property in Lee was listed by the estate agent as needing a "full program of refurbishment". Although they did accept it could offer a "potential development" for any prospective buyer. Nonetheless David was shocked to discover holes in the ceilings and dead pigeons once inside the "beast" of a property, telling his 149,000 subscribers that each floor got "worse as you go up".

: "I had to investigate it all, go into the heart of darkness, and it is just mind blowing. I have never seen a house in as bad a state as this in London. I've seen worse houses up north but they were going for five grand, 10 grand, not half a million."
He added: "The good news about this house is that it has loads of floors, the bad news is that they get worse as you go up. It's like a reverse of Dante's Inferno."
Once inside the upper floors of the house, David discovered the pigeons had moved into the building. He explained: "There were dead birds but there were loads of live birds in here. They just moved in and have taken over.
"But yeah, as you move through, it is just a sight to behold. It really is."

David was impressed by the property's garden, admitting it could add "crazy value" to the building if it was "done up nice". He added: "Maybe this is a bit of a gem, maybe this house could be a bit of a find."
Although he was less impressed that the home had a guide price of £500,000 at auction, almost twice the national average of £260,000. He concluded: "It is mindboggling that this place is on for £500,000 going to auction.
"So, it might even go for more than £500,000. It really did feel like a horror movie being here. I have never been in a place that had such an ominous, spooky, disgusting feel to it."
The property has since sold for £661,000. David concluded: "Can you believe that? That is absolutely crazy.
"I wonder if the person that bought this actually went to see it or if I wonder if they just saw a picture and thought, 'Oh, it can't be that bad'. No, it is that bad and you've just spent 661 grand on it."
YouTube commenters however concluded that the buyer could have splashed the cash for the plot itself. One said: "Yes the price seems absurd but that's to be expected, it's London... and that's got potential somebody will make a tidy ROI (Return of investment) on a build."
Elsewhere David viewed a property that cost £2 million, but had to pay three lots of council tax, and a phone box, that was valued at around £10,000. The phone box however failed to sell at auction.
