The headless body of a man has been found lying in the middle of a street in Lisbon. A police source claimed on Wednesday (July 30) the person's head was "not at the scene" and the force is still trying to locate it.
The body was discovered in Patio Salema in the historic centre of the Portuguese capital. The street isn't far from the city's main tourist sites.
Police found the body at about 6.45am. The street was closed off while officers investigated. It came just hours after the body of a woman was found in the boot of a car.
The corpse of woman aged in her 50s was found in Costa da Caparica on the outskirts of the city. The owner of the vehicle isn't known to the authorities.
A murder investigation has been launched after the grim discovery near a petrol station in Costa da Caparica on Tuesday (July 29).
