Chaser Darragh Ennis has shared that he would love to appear on a rival show - but bosses won't allow it. The Irish quizzer shared that he "would love" to participate in but the broadcaster have said that they "probably won't take him" for one reason.
Speaking exclusively to at one of his quiz nights, in , the 44-year-old admitted: "I want to do Taskmaster more than anything, but they won't have me." He went on to explain: "Because I'm not a comedian and they focus on comedians. They basically said they probably won't take me."
Taskmaster is hosted by Greg Davies and Alex Horne and sees five famous contestants compete in a series of bizarre challenges in order to win back their forfeited possessions. The BAFTA-winning comedy game show has been on screens since 2015.
When asked if he would do any other shows, he replied: "It would depend on the money. I would do, you know, most things. I applied for Dancing on Ice, but I didn't get it. I can't dance, so that's probably why I didn't get it!"
Darragh also shared that the Chasers are not allowed to know what producers are looking for when accepting applications for new contestants. He said: "For a huge number of reasons, we are told nothing about what they're looking for. We are not, in any way, allowed to know anything about who the contestants are, how they're selected, what order they are put in. There is like an iron curtain between us.

"Because, obviously, that leaves it open to abuse and it is very, very serious, so I have no idea what they want. But anyone can see that they want a range of different ages, different genders, different backgrounds, different places and that's what they look for in a team. But on an individual basis, that's a question for the producers."
He added: "I think they just spot something, whether it's the job that you do. They've told us nothing. Honestly, not a clue."
The quizzer recently invited live audiences across the nation to take part in his Ultimate Pub Quiz tour. He put on six shows, with visits to Barnard Castle, Sheffield, Bedford, Liverpool, Southport and Manchester, with tickets costing £20 which also included a meet and greet with the star himself.
The nights, which were full of banter, were led by Darragh who hosted multiple rounds of questions spanning general knowledge, pop culture, history, and more. Customers can sign up to the to hear about future pub quiz dates. An Ireland tour is to be announced in September, followed by an extended UK run in Spring 2026.
