Cristiano Ronaldo finally engaged to Georgina Rodriguez as incredible ring revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo's long-term girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez has revealed they are finally engaged to be married. The superstar couple have been together for nine years but Ronaldo had previously been hesitant to pop the question. Now, his partner has taken to social media to confirm their long-awaited engagement and show off her incredible ring.

On Monday evening, Rodriguez posted a picture of their hands on Instagram. The model from Argentina was carrying a huge diamond on her ring finger and confirmed that Ronaldo had finally asked her to marry him. She captioned the post: "Yes I do. In this and in all my lives."

The pair have been together since 2016, when they met in a Gucci store in Madrid where Rodriguez was working. They quickly hit things off and have never looked back, staying by each other's side ever since.

Reflecting on their first meeting, Rodriguez admitted that she felt an instant connection with her future husband. She told Spanish media: "He's such a handsome man. When I saw him he was so handsome I felt embarrassed to look at him.

"I was finally able to leave the shop to go home three hours later than I should have. As I was getting ready to leave, Cristiano came in with his eldest son and some friends. Let's just say it was butterflies in my stomach."

The couple have two daughters, seven-year-old Alana and three-year-old Bella. The latter's twin brother, Angel, tragically died at birth.

Rodriguez has also helped to raise Ronaldo's other three children, acting as a mother figure to 15-year-old Cristiano Jr, eight-year-old Mateo and eight-year-old Eva Maria.

Ronaldo hinted at a possible engagement by referring to Rodriguez as his wife at last year's Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. He said: "It's a big pleasure to win this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife is here."

The former Manchester United striker was previously quizzed on why he had not popped the question and replied: "I always tell her: 'When we get that click'. Like everything with our life, and she knows what I'm talking about.

"It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I'm 1,000 per cent sure that it'll happen."

Rodriguez, meanwhile, previously said of her friends: "They're always joking about the wedding. 'When is the wedding?'. Since Jennifer Lopez's song The Ring Or When came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me."
