viewers have figured out the mystery surrounding Dee-Dee Bailey - and it's not pregnancy.

The character, portrayed by Channique Sterling-Brown, first graced our screens back in 2022 and has since won over the hearts of viewers. However, Dee-Dee's life has taken a dramatic turn of late.

She discovered the horrifying truth about her fiance Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who was revealed to be a predator, grooming and abusing young girls over the years, including Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

The shocking revelation of solicitor Joel's 'true' nature left Weatherfield residents, including Dee-Dee, appalled, with Dee-Dee swearing to bring him to justice.

Joel was subsequently arrested but later released on bail. However, he disappeared last week, leading police to believe he had committed suicide.

In Monday's episode (October 14), it was confirmed that Joel was dead, his body discovered in a nearby river, reports .

Initially thought to be suicide, a post-mortem examination later established that Joel was murdered, having been struck on the head with a heavy object before his body was discarded.

However, amidst the turmoil surrounding Joel, Dee-Dee has sparked much speculation among fans. In recent episodes, she has behaved unusually, seemingly suffering from hallucinations and bouts of sickness and vomiting.

Coronation Street fans are buzzing with theories, but while some speculate she could be expecting, others believe they've cracked the real issue. A Corrie enthusiast on a Facebook fan page declared: "Dee dee was acting weird again last night. Went to drink her wine and then excused herself to the toilet..."

Another viewer suggested a more sinister reason: "Was the sickness due to murdering him not pregnancy as she was supposedly waiting till after marriage?" This theory gained traction as another fan concurred: "Yeah she did it. They didn't have sex - she was saving herself until they were married."

Echoing this sentiment, another chimed in: "She hasn't slept with anyone yet because of her religion. She killed him."

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
