Levi Colwill has vowed to unleash his "anger" on Ipswich after Chelsea lost to the Premier League strugglers earlier this season. Chelsea have missed out on Europe's top-tier competition for two years but are now among five teams vying for a spot this term. A victory over Ipswich, who are battling relegation, could be crucial in their quest for European glory.
The 22-year-old defender, fresh from aiding Chelsea to a resounding Conference League win in Warsaw, emphasised: "Sunday is a huge game for us. Every game from now on is a final. We've got to get the three points at home. And of course, considering what happened last time, we've got to remember that and give it a bit more."
Chelsea's loss to Ipswich in December sparked a slump that saw the Blues fall away from Liverpool and put their Champions League hopes in a precarious position.
"We weren't good enough and they beat us, so it's as simple as that," Colwill admitted. "But we've got to use that bit of anger that we've got in us, which is natural, to beat them this time. They're quite a difficult team. I know that they're in the bottom three, but they don't always play like a bottom three team.
"That's what happened last time. I think they played well. We struggled and they stopped us from making as many chances as we usually do. But this time, I think it's a completely different game and we've got to step up at the Bridge to win."
Colwill expressed his confidence that Chelsea has the capability to dominate any team in the world when they're on form.
"I think every team in the league has had ups and downs this season," he remarked. "When we're playing our football, I think we're unstoppable. We've got to keep doing that. We've got to push on with the momentum and hopefully get a win on Sunday.
"Momentum is the biggest thing. And if our confidence is high, I think we'll beat anyone. So we've got to carry that on come Sunday and get the win."
Securing a Champions League position would be a tremendous achievement in Maresca's debut campaign, with Chelsea also seen as strong contenders to clinch the Conference League title.
"We're in this competition to win it," Colwill confirmed.
"There's no two ways about it. When you play for Chelsea, every competition you're in, you're trying to win. And it's the same with this one. And I think it's an amazing experience doing that."
