returned on Monday (April 7) with a resurfaced episode on which caused a major stir after an employee was sacked by their boss. Jane Grote Abell, Chairwoman of Donatos Pizza and daughter of the company's founder, went undercover posing as an employee and a contestant for a new reality TV show, where she made a shock discovery.

Wearing a disguise the pizza shop owner visited their campus location at the Ohio State University. She joined Aaron who worked as a delivery driver when he made a candid admission about what he gets up to while on the job. He admittedly enjoyed the job but would also partake in other activities while on company time.

"A lot of people smoke pot and they will invite me to come in for a little bit," Aaron revealed. "If I'm not very busy and I don't need to be super focused then I'll kind of indulged."

Jane was left shocked after her employee admitted to smoking marijuana while delivering pizza and wanted to take off her disguise and fire him on the spot.

She remarked: "Not only is it just not safe, it is illegal. I want to take off my disguise and firem him right then."

Her true identity was revealed later in the programme, as a stunned Aaron received a stern grilling from his boss.

"So, Aaron, when you told me you smoked pot on the job, I've never been so angry in my life," Jane reiterated. While he attempted to play down the incident, she interjected: "You said you did it while you were at Donatos, working."

Aaron apologised before his boss followed up, saying: "Well, you know I have to let you go as a delivery driver."

All was not lost for her employee as she agreed to give him a job in the kitchen if he took a drug test within the next 30 days.

Aaron said: "Jane kind of fired me and I'm glad she's taking into account all of the positives in me. I'm glad she's giving me the opportunity she's giving me."

The resurfaced episode from 2019 caused a social media stir as one viewer wrote: "He put himself and others in danger. And now the CEO!!! Are you kidding me!!! She should have fired him no questions asked!!! He knew he did wrong!!!"

Another fumed: "Well, she has no choice but telling him this cannot be tolerated."

A third agreed: "Yeah definitely not on the job bro. Show some restraint. Especially when you drive."

Others suggested the moment was blown out of proportion as a social media user said: "Its really not that deep if you put things in perspective. He's probably driving his own vehicle, being severly underpaid and he has a good reputation (which means alot of experience) as a delivery driver so I assume he doesn't get into many accidents, if any."

Undercover Boss airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 11.10am
