Bruno Fernandes sent a clear message to Manchester United with his actions on social media after Marcus Rashford's match-winning performance for Barcelona. The on-loan forward was the hero against Newcastle with his two goals helping the Catalan giants to victory in their Champions League opener. Anthony Gordon halved the deficit in the final minutes but it was too little, too late for the Magpies.
Rashford was deemed surplus to requirements to United back in January and spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. He went on to secure his dream move to Barcelona in the summer and appears to be on the road to redemption. His terrific performance ruined Newcastle's big night and prompted a shout out from Fernandes on social media.
Taking to his Instagram story, the United skipper posted a video of Rashford's second goal, with the forward picking up the ball and lashing it into the back of the net via the crossbar. He added two mind-blown emojis with a shocked face in between.
It seemed to suggest that Fernandes wished Rashford was still at Old Trafford, given that he chose to share it publicly instead of just commenting on the 27-year-old's own post.
He was not the only one to have been left stunned by Rashford's incredible strike, with Ally McCoist also flabbergasted by the quality of the United loanee.

He said: "Deary, deary me. That's absolutely majestic. It's a thing of beauty. That man [Thomas Tuchel] should be applauded with the greatest respect, ah, I thought he was attempting to hit earlier... wow.
"It's just fabulous football from Rashford. It dips in the last minute I think, in off the underside of the bar. A fantastic goal."
It proved to be a nervy ending for Barcelona, who had to cling onto their lead after Gordon's late goal for Newcastle. Rashford, meanwhile, was denied a hat-trick chance with the England forward being replaced by Dani Olmo.
After the final whistle, he admitted it was 'refreshing' to be at Barcelona after struggling to make his mark at United over the last few seasons.
"I'm full of excitement," said Rashford. "I'm very motivated, very determined and the quality we've got in the team, that excites me alone.
"It's refreshing to play with these guys. I've said it a few times but the team's so young, they play with such confidence, such understanding of the game."
