A beloved presenter could lose his job in an bloodbath driven by cost-cutting measures. It is being reported that host looks set to be axed from the breakfast show, despite its runtime being extended by 30 minutes each day to run from 6am until 9:30am.
According to MailOnline, Adil is expected to be axed from the line-up despite being a long-term stand-in presenter who regularly covers for the main cast during the summer holidays. Over the years he has been mired in controversy, including a "fat-shaming" row involving darts champion
In January 2025 Adil commented on Littler's weight live on-air, saying: "I have to say and this might not be very popular, I'm a little bit worried about Luke. He's 17 and he's turning into the look of a darts player."
He insisted: "He is though. If I were his mum and dad, I mean, he's sort of - look at him. He's admitted he has pizzas before a match and sits there playing computer games. I just think I'd be a bit worried. I don't want him to get too unhealthy."
Insiders claimed to MailOnline that a meeting of senior ITV executives - which included daytime boss Emma Gormley - concluded that Adil is now facing the axe. A source said: "All of the presenters are in a state of panic and up in arms following ITV's announcement.
"These shows make up a large part of their livelihoods, so they are just as stressed and angry as the production staff, who have been told over 300 jobs are at risk."
