Anthony Joshua 'on verge of £500m Tyson Fury deal' after Daniel Dubois on one condition

Anthony Joshua is reportedly closing in on a mouthwatering £500million two-fight deal with Tyson Fury if he manages to defeat Daniel Dubois at Wembley tonight (Saturday night).

The IBF world heavyweight title is on the line and the stakes have never been higher for Joshua, with the potential to cement himself as British boxing's biggest star by becoming a three-time heavyweight world champion.

A place in history awaits Joshua should his arm be held aloft. But another prize is on the line - a mega fight with none other than the Gypsy King.

The Sun claim that the wheels are already in motion to make a fight between Joshua and Fury happen, if the former is victorious over Dubois and Fury is not knocked out in his December 21 rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua vs Fury would likely take place across two fights, the first in Saudi Arabia and a return in England, each likely to make around two million pay-per-view sales and sell out a UK stadium a similar size to Wembley.

A date in the spring of next year would be likely, kickstarting the richest fight of the modern era, if Joshua can survive a contest against his fellow countryman Dubois.

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, hinted as much that the fight would be on the cards if both his client and Fury were victorious this year. "The one question I've been asked for the last 10 years is when AJ is going to fight Fury," he said.

"If AJ were to win at Wembley and Fury was to turn over that defeat to Usyk in the rematch, you've got the biggest fight in the history of the entire sport in AJ vs Fury for the undisputed world heavyweight championship.

"For AJ, the dream has always been to become undisputed. Next Saturday, he has a chance to become a three-time world heavyweight champion and be one fight away from becoming undisputed, whether that is against Fury or Usyk. To see AJ-Fury for undisputed would be incredible."

For years, rumours of Joshua and Fury going toe-to-toe in the ring have swirled, but with the pair entering the twilight of their careers it could be now or never for the fight British boxing wants most.

The Watford man could take on Usyk for a third time if details on a clash with Fury cannot be agreed upon, but the report states that there is 'no appetite' for another rematch.

After two defeats in the United States, Joshua's reputation across the pond has taken a hit, with the sport's chiefs keen to pair him against Fury in both the UK and the Middle East.
